Jazz Ball
The ball season doesn’t just freeze up with the start of February.
There’s still plenty of time for heading down to the Jazz Ball at
Musilka and enjoying the chance to dance and listen to the Jazz Archiv
orchestra led by Jan Koukal. So throw on those thirties glad rags and
prepare to dance the night away!
Jazz Archiv is a Brno swing band that has been going strong for almost 40 years. The ensemble first played New Orleans-style jazz, but as the group gathered more members, the sound shifted to Chicago jazz. Later still, they became a big band, playing not just the standard arrangements (from the repertoires of the Glen Miller, Benny Goodman or Duke Ellington orchestras), but also airing their own compositions, even with the odd spot of singing!
