Hello, Dolly! Welcome to Brno!
Another world famous, crowd-pleasing musical will appear centre stage
at the Music Theatre of the Brno City Theatre. Gustav Skála is
directing Hello Dolly! – with lyrics and music by Jerry Herman and the
book by Michael Stewart.
Delight in the story of Dolly Levi, the go-getting matchmaker of New York suburbia, who intends to keep the best young bachelor for herself. Ultimately however, her personal charms are enough to transform the aging curmudgeon Horáce Vandergelder into an amorous and attentive husband. This musical was premiered in 1964 in New York, but gained everlasting fame due to the film adaptation released in 1969, featuring Gene Kelly, Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau in the starring roles. Louis Armstrong also added a dash of his own inimitable musical style, popularizing the title song Hello, Dolly! with his unique gravelly bass.

Zápletka hvězdně obsazeného akčního filmu se točí kolem obvyklých témat, jako jsou peníze, drogy, nájemní vrazi, vysoce školení vojáci apod. Film by fanouškům žánru rozhodně neměl uniknout.
